My CRX Build Empty
PostSubject: My CRX Build   My CRX Build Empty20th June 2008, 20:14

pinched a few bits from my DJCC build thread. i'll get a pic in a minute of when i bought it and what it looks like now.

I bought the CRX in september last year and seeing as it'll be an ongoing project for me i thought id start a build up.

Its a '93 crx del sol in samba green, it needs a little body work but nothing major, it'll all be sorted out in the next few months, it'll stay in the original colour and look pretty much as it does now, except i'll be changing the alloys. so far as it stands:

and i've just placed an order for some iridium spark plugs, a new fuel filter and a new induction filter as mine is restricted by the cone heat shield around it, also my car is drinking fuel like an alcoholic at the moment, my fuel fitler is old and the plugs are no good which is why i'm replacing them.

thanks for the comments guys Smile
i'll back all this up for when we move to .co.uk so i can repost it all.

i got a little more done this afternoon, and now its beginning to look a little more like an engine rather than just a block.
i decided to respray the oil dipstick tube blue instead of black, fitted a new water pump honed the block, fitted the acl crank bearings and thrust washers, the crankshaft, and placed the girdle on for now till i've got the pistons, rods and arp bolts, although i could fit it and work round it its easier to just place it on for now.

My CRX Build 22062008155

i sprayed some normal hammerite on the rocker cover fitted to the car this afternoon, seems to be holding out to the heat so i'll be spraying 1 of my spares up yellow next so its ready, thats probably all i can do until i get some more parts, but i want them now Sad

Looks a lot like a del sol. Seen this car on SCC, nice motor but not a fan of the colour.

its a uk model so its just called a CRX. the japanese import is a CRX Del Sol so you are right, except i'm not on SCC so my car won't be on there.
as for the color, it is abit extreme but i bought it for its rarity.
